I've often seen cantab used to describe students at universities in Cambridge, MA. Particularly, Harvard College. Should this get a mention, even though the usage is incorrect? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Morphling89 (talkcontribs) 06:06, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As an alumnus of both Harvard and Cambridge, I have never heard of Cantab being used for Harvard students or alumni. Cantabrigia is used by the city, Cantab might be a citizen of Cambridge, but I've never seen it applied to the university.
Can anyone provide a citation? Brmilton (talk) 18:44, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Two counter-citations:
https://yaledailynews.com/blog/2010/11/19/keegan-what-i-learned-from-my-cantab-ex-bf/ Both went to Cambridge HS, making them BOTH Cantabs in that respect; and besides, she's Yale.
https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2007/1/31/wallys-world-harvard-shall-be-cantabs/ Citation from the Crimson, pointing out the error in use.
Best not to propagate incorrect/ambiguous usage. Brmilton (talk) 19:03, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
