I added some photos and historical background from my personal experiance both as a tenant, and night security guard in the building with acceess to every area, from 1977 to 1982 I found an engineer's log book in the basement in what was once an office,it detailed the writer's experience as the new employee and that the building wasn't yet finished and he turned on the boilers to help dry the building out. The log book detailed replacing one of the engine's bearings and the work involving a hoist broke the wings off a cast-iron eagle on one of the boilers. It also detailed numerous mechanical problems related specifically to the cables fraying etc and causing shut downs. In addition I also found the missing piece of stone from one of the female figures on the entrance, broken in two pieces laying in the mud in the sub, sub basement- it was the top of a sword handle, later replaced in a restoration with an incorrect torch to match the one on the left figure, which was incorrect, there was a torch and a sword- two different allegorical meanings were intended for the pair.
