The article does not seem to be presented in a neutral manner.

  • He is backed in the venture by the strong foundation of TV18's newsgathering experience and infrastructure in India and bolstered by CNN’s eminent and extensive global news network.
It is a subjective definition.
  • He is backed in the venture by the strong foundation of TV18's newsgathering experience and infrastructure in India and bolstered by CNN’s eminent and extensive global news network.
  • Headquartered at a world-class facility

All these are some of the instances which deliberately aim to show the venture in a positive light, giving an advertisement like theme to the article. Also the article provides no references and the coments of the people have not been cited.

  • Edited the whole article and {{npov}} tag removed. Hope now it appears more neutral...Pratheepps 11:50, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't know, it still doesn't sound very neutral. Items like "Headquartered at New Delhi, the channel is supported by over 20 bureaus nationwide, along with a team of experienced newspersons and production staff, backed by TV18’s state-of-the-art broadcast infrastructure and newsgathering technology." make it seem like an advertisement. --Mrmiscellanious 15:53, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comment

One of the facts not disclosed in main page for CNN-IBN is, GBN, the holding company for the channel is owned by media company TV18,the company that runs & operates flagship business channel CNBC TV18, CNBC Awaz & business website www.moneycontrol.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.238.44.225 (talk) 07:51, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism

The channel is often accused of batting for the communists as sagarika ghosh is related to birinda karat and arundhati roy who are leftist by ideology. The channel is also accused of creating unnecessary sensation, the cnn ibn has a another type of democracy it promotes only its ideology and don't allow users to post views not in line with cnn ibn. There seams a nexus between present UPA government and cnn ibn as last year cnn ibn declared prime minister manmohan singh as indian of the year and this year rajdeep serdesai (owner cnn ibn) has been awarded baharat shri by manmohan singh government. In its latest cnn ibn indian of the year though it has allowed public to chose there indian of the year through voting but they are not showing the public voting statistics on its site and is allegedly declaring persons as ibn indian of the year based on its own choice."

Not an NPOV. The color of the person is all too easily discernible! Plus the language too, at times, leaves much to be desired. A simple "Considered by some as an excessively left-leaning media house" would have done the trick without causing a lay reader to wonder whether it is vandalism or not. 202.141.141.53 (talk) 12:39, 29 January 2008 (UTC) 202.141.141.55 (talk) 09:50, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed this uncited claim "There are some allegations that CNN-IBN is pro Congress channel". Please provide a legitimate source for this claim. (59.178.33.65 (talk) 03:55, 4 October 2009 (UTC)).[reply]

Goa govt. transfers Scarlet case to CBI ? since when the procedure is made cut short?

To, Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai, Chief Editor CNN IBN

Sir ,

I was shocked to read a ticker running on your channel, which said that the Scarlet case has been handed over to CBI by Goa govt.

With regards to you and the staff in the editorial section must be well experienced and senior one but it is pity that the people at the desk do not know the procedure of handing over a case to CBI and the time taken for it.

AS per the knowledge, which I have, the procedure is as follows: -

1. State Govt has to issue a notification regarding handing over a case to CBI 2. Than State Govt. has to write to Personal Dept in Delhi requesting CBI probe. 3. Personal dept than writes to CBI to look in to the matter 4. CBI than asks the state govt. to submit the copies of the document pertaining to that particular case in which CBI investigation is required. 5. CBI officials than go through the documents supplied by the state govt. and decide whether to take charge of the case or not and the same is communicated to the state Govt.

The above procedure takes about 45 to 60 days or even more.

Goa govt. is well experienced in handing over cases to CBI and time taken by them t take charge of the case.

Regarding Scarlett case the notification is yet to be published.

This is a request, not to spoil the name of Goa by giving half truth stories for increasing your TRP ratings.

Regards, Arvind Tengse Journalist from Goa

I am a regular watcher of IBN live, the presentation of the news it good but when It comes to the Ideology issues, I am sorry to say it is biased, They provided days of coverage on churches attack but not even a 5 min coverage on attack on Hindu Leaders or unethical conversions —Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.234.250.71 (talk) 12:27, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quality of presenters

The quality of the "hosts" especially the analysis and debate sections of CNN IBN are extremely poor.

Starting with Rajdeep Sardesai. He is extremely loud and shouts down his own guests. Apart from being extremely poor TV journalism, it is bad form. If this is the kind of exhibition of manners put out on national TV, young impressionable minds watching it think it is okay to shout down without hearing out people.

Sagarika Ghosh, follows closely behind Rajdeep Sardesai in bad manners. Questions are extremely long and convuluted and actually she gives the answer as well. Her guests are only allowed to say yes or no. Anyway, no is not acceptable and the same thing is shouted over and over to make viewers feel she is right and the guest's view is false. I have often wondered whether they are trying to follow the style of Bill ORiley of Fox TVPsaratchandran (talk) 06:40, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Another bad interviewer is Karan Thapar. I admire Karan Thapar for his command over spoken English which both Rajdeep and Sagarika sadly lack. Karan Thapar also shouts down his guests when their view point does not match his.

These people would do well to watch interview techniques on BBC ,NDTV or even some smaller Hindi language channels. These show that it is not necessary to shout one's viewpoint and guests do keep to the timelimit when the interview is conducted in a more decorous manner. Besides, it is very important to keep in mind that viewers cannot hear and understand what is going on when everyone shouts at the same time. Viewers enjoy watching debates when all are given sufficient time to talk. Debates should be about ideas and not soundbytes. 59.182.182.247 (talk) 17:09, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Vijaya[reply]

Add that the editor in chief, Rajdeep Sardesai and his wife quit the channel after Reliance takeover. 59.96.201.45 (talk) 16:44, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: as you have not cited reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article. - Arjayay (talk) 16:49, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

CNN-IBN liscensing agreement expected to be terminated.

According to several news articles, Turner Broadcasting and Network 18 will most probably end their agreement. Please update this page to explain this current state of affairs as it is consequential.[1]

CNN-News18News18 – CNN is the parent company, News18 is the channel. Neither the website logo nor the URL includes CNN. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:23, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment @Kailash29792: The topic of this article, i.e. "CNN News18" channel does exist. Perhpas its better to seek the move of redundantly named "News18 India" network article to "News18." -- Ab207 (talk) 14:45, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: (imitating Walter White) You're goddamn right. Somehow the RM should be transferred to there. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:52, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Not sure about the transfer but I guess you can withdraw this request and open a fresh one. -- Ab207 (talk) 15:27, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose The nominator has made incorrect assessment. There are 2 channels. The English one has CNN News18 in the logo.[1] The hindi channel has title News18 India. [2] Neither of the two articles need to be renamed. News18.com is just the website, and I believe the website for the channel, does not deserve a separate Wikipedia article. No need to transfer anything or rename anything. --Venkat TL (talk) 16:16, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Looks misguided. 122.170.171.194 (talk) 08:55, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - The article does not need to be renamed as CNN is used in their branding on their social networks and usernames - DownTownRich (talk) 02:11, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
