Oh no, it's another attack by Hyperbole Man! Are you kidding?! "...a testament to Ali's place as one of the most increddible emcees of all time"?! This article is uninteresting, poorly written, and sounds like it was copied from some record label's Web page. Boooooooooooooooooo. R 18:02, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I agree - i'll try a re-write later on, I'd also like to know what his real name is. MagicBez 16:37, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, this is written like a review. It's informative, but the tone is all wrong. 130.85.149.71 19:04, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality

I was just wondering what nationality he is.. hard to tell, what with being albino and all... -211.31.232.216 16:40, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He's American. Born and raised in the Midwest. If you meant race, he's Caucasian. f(x)=ax2+bx+c 23:56, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

im pretty sure hes african american and therefore not caucasian 81.77.250.227 18:12, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

he's african american, but due to the fact that he's albino, it makes it kind of hard to tell.

Anyone want to get some citation on this fact? His features seem much more caucasian than african american, perhaps his parents were from different races? His voice does sound like a black mans though, thats for sure (not being racist or anything).--Azslande 07:36, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

His voice doesn't sound "like a black man's" - his voice is actually pretty unique in hip-hop. If you mean he has a tight flow, and he's a decent MC, that's something else entirely. J-B, 7 April 2007

He is not African American. Febodyed 14:00, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do any of you got some sources for your claims? Jonashm 01:50 18 April 2007

On the radio show he did about his latest album, he talked loads about his feelings on race and how just because in one interview when someone asked "are you black or white" and he said something along the lines of "make your own mind up and print that" and they printed that he was black so loads of other people took that as the truth. He doesn't say he's caucasian, but he does say he's not african american. I don't even see where the whole issue came from anyway, as Azslande said, he doesn't have african american features.Febodyed 07:25, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plus, in the liner notes of The Undisputed Truth, in his comment about Daylight he says "My family is white and I'm an albino." Febodyed 17:45, 20 April 2007 (UTC) diz cat straight up black69.143.165.9 01:01, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He's actually a familly friend, and he's white caucasian, but albino —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.219.3.75 (talk) 05:02, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Putting some references here for clarity - "Yes, Ali is fully white. He was born Jason Newman in Madison, Wis." [1][2] Terasaface (talk) 17:58, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Religion

What about mentioning the fact that he is also a devout muslim? -- Librarianofages 09:42, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History

I heard in an interview he gave that he grew up in Michigan, not Wisconsin.

In the intro of the article it reads: "Wall Street Journal writer Lauren Schuker has also went on record saying Brother Ali was the first concert she went to upon moving to Los Angeles, although when recalling the concert she humorously referred to him as "Mr. Pink Eye.""

I don't see how this is interesting, at least not in the start of the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.249.85.65 (talk) 10:44, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not that it really matters all that much, but when the fuck was he born? In the first sentence Ali was supposedly born in 1978, but July 30, 1977, is listed as his birth date under Background information. Not even consistent within the article, WTF?! It's shit like this that makes Wikipedia a goddamn, unreliable joke. BiPolarCurious (talk) 21:37, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Info

I'd like to see more precise information about this guy's age (birthdate) and education. Where did he go to school? What level of education has he achieved? Spottacus 19:37, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would really like to get a picture of him up here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.10.77.60 (talk) 16:13, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is a DVD that comes with The Undisputed Truth that talks about his school and has alot of other personal information. I simply do not have the time to go through it, but any of you regular editors may want to review this DVD as it is straight out of Brother Ali's mouth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.197.141.215 (talk) 00:13, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I own a few pictures of Brother Ali from 2004: http://www.cryblood.com/Pictures/2004-10-13/2004-10-13%20111.jpg http://www.cryblood.com/Pictures/2004-10-13/2004-10-13%20107.jpg taken at a show at Foufounes Electriques, in Montreal. Can someone add one as a main pic? This beautiful man needs a photo! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.239.75.79 (talk) 18:40, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Jon Heimdal"?

Brother Ali has said many times in interviews that he finds much of his inspiration in the early 1930s rapper Jon Heimdal

I don't think there were many rappers in the early 1930s, and I am unable to find any information on any rapper named Jon Heimdal. Is this vandalism? --Cholling (talk) 00:22, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jon Heimdal is his other Son. Chazbraz (talk) 16:44, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
