Add Brawl to game mode section: Brawl ball is a game mode like soccer, in which there are two teams of three characters that try to score a ball into the opposing team's goal. The first team to two goals wins, and if there is a tie after time is up the game will have a one minute overtime period. This was the most recent game mode introduced Stucarr86 (talk) 23:17, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

Notice of mass removal

Per this edit, please see WP:VGSCOPE, or better, the whole Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Video games page. Wikipedia is not a place to add detailed video game characters, or unsourced gameplay sections; they are better suited if they are placed on Wikia or any other wiki related to that video game. Additionally, I've removed the "Android" and "March 2018 update" sections as they appear to be all unsourced, and also the AMA source, which are unreliable. If anyone has reliable sources for these and want to readd it, feel free, but at this time, due to persistent disruptive editing, including vandalism, you must have an account that's 4 days old and 10 edits or more to edit this article, although you can still submit an edit request or propose changes on talk. Thanks. theinstantmatrix (talk) 21:39, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

Lack of sources isn’t the only problem

To be perfectly honest, this article needs a total rewrite. There are major inaccuracies (in what universe is this a real-time strategy game?), but more importantly, the section titled “Gameplay,” which makes up the bulk of the article, doesn’t describe the gameplay at all. Instead, it expounds on the specifics and pricing of the loot-box system, and the number and rarity of items available. If this is truly the author’s primary interest in the game, then I weep for their bank statement.

I don’t have a lot of free time, but I fully intend to rebuild this article in the near future. However I would still encourage anyone who wants to make their own edits to this article to do so. ScreamingRobot (talk) 18:49, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

Special Game modes

By: Edison

In the last game mode tab section there are events and modded game modes, such game modes are:

Life Leech=where your health is drained slowly and to gain health you will have to attack enemies, killing an enemy gives you full health.

Meteor= A mode where meteors will strike at brawlers, dealing 2000 Damage,But a sign is displayed to show the place where a meteor would strike and players have to exit that area to prevent being damaged.

Power potion=A mode where a Blue Potion appears randomly and when a brawler consumes it, his speed and damage triples for a period of time

Healing Mushrooms= Where a huge are will will randomly be affected for a while, healing 1000 health to people in the area

In depth into character types

Basic Brawlers split into 3 categories:Starter,Common and Reward brawlers Starter: Starter brawler is the first brawler you have and the brawler you use in the tutorial, so far there is only 1 starter character, Shelly Common:Only has 1 brawler, Colt League Reward:The reward brawlers are the brawlers you purely earn by gaining trophies,Shelly and colt are not league rewards although we often call them that.Such brawlers are Nita,Bull,Jessie,Brock, Dynamike and Bo, Building up to 6

Rare: Housing up to 3 brawlers, the rare class has only Poco, El Primo And Barley

Super rare: Only Darryl,Penny and Ricochet, amounting to 3.

Epic:There are only 3 so far, Pam, Frank and Piper

Mythic: It is the second Best class of brawlers, involving Mortis and Tara

Legendary are 3 legendary as of 2018 , Crow,Spike and the 2018 added Leon.

Removing WP:VGSCOPE violations

As per this edit, I've once again removed what appears to be a blatant violation of WP:VGSCOPE, specifically numbers 6 and 7. I already talked about this on the previous sections, but it somehow was ignored and was added back in. As for this revert, Bigeyemanigm, please explain why you want to keep that, rather than resorting to edit warring. This is not only unsourced, but also adding WP:INDISCRIMINATE/WP:NOTCATALOGUE#simplelists information, and we're also veering way too much into FANDOM/Wikia territory here. theinstantmatrix (talk) 03:45, 30 May 2019 (UTC) edited 05:54, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Because this is an encyclopedia. You have to be aware that users read video game articles, even to those who are not familiar with this game (or gaming in general). As quoted from Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Video games#What is appropriate? (yes, Wikipedia has its own Manual of Style):

Because the encyclopedia will be read by gamers and non-gamers alike, it is important not to clutter an article with a detailed description of how to play it or an excessive amount of non-encyclopedic trivia. A general rule of thumb to follow if unsure: If the content only has value to people actually playing the game, it is unsuitable. Always remember the bigger picture: video game articles should be readable and interesting to non-gamers.

I know I'm aware the OP is already blocked indef and that this message is maybe a bit bitey, but I need to get this out of here somehow. theinstantmatrix (talk) 23:16, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

August 2019 rewrite

Expanding on the edit summary of this edit I made:

  • Removed unsourced/self-published sources and statements and replaced YouTube/Reddit sources.
  • Rewrote redundant sentences and simplified genres down to MOBA.
  • Finally, in compliance with WP:VGSCOPE, I rewrote the gameplay section based on earlier revisions and with some research on the Brawl Stars FANDOM Wikia. A new paragraph is written that actually describes the game modes based on sources. Lastly, I removed the paragraph that's above the gameplay section (it's on the lead) as it's not only in the wrong place, it's entirely unsourced.

The "Development and Release" section had a sentence removed which harms understanding. It's first sentence references a version of a game tailored for mobile while the sentence describing said inspiration was removed. Please add this sentence at the start: "Supercell set out to develop a team based game similar to League of Legends and Overwatch." The information is cited already in the source used for the second sentence.2603:7000:1F00:6B91:C407:4497:6B96:515E (talk) 01:11, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

Request - Just want to add a new section. Different games have their names for their characters. The same applies to Brawl Stars, The Brawl stars team has come up with a great name for their characters is Brawler. And with the latest update, there are 46 brawlers at present and soon there will be 47 at the end of May, as a new brawler will be added that is Squeak.

Misleading citation in #Brawl_Pass

The citation in the Brawl Pass section is misleading; as it says that unlocking the paid Brawl pass costs 170 gems or $9.99, and that the Brawl Pass bundle costs 250 gems. Actually, the Brawl pass costs 169 gems, and cannot be bought with real-life money (only the gems can be bought with real-life money). Also, the Brawl pass bundle costs 249 gems, not 250. The display price of Brawl Pass is the same as its actual price. I propose changing the citation to one that it more accurate.

Christmas Updates

There were Christmas updates, where they add 2 brawlers in a single update. The most recent one being in December 2020. Where they added Edger which is free and Byron. Joevim (talk) 04:16, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

What is significant about that? There are over 40 brawlers in the game. It's not unusual for the developers to add brawlers to an update, so I am not sure what you are trying to get at here. What is unique about this update other than the addition of brawlers? Edipio | talk 05:32, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

The Gameplay Section Image

The current image that the Gameplay Section has ("Screenshot of gameplay in the "Bounty" mode") is very old, it has a map that no longer exists and does not have the "use pin" button. I request that image be replaced by this image, with the caption "Screenshot of the game mode "Brawl Ball"".

NINJAHSTERco (talk) 12:03, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

Please replace the "Gameplay" section with what is below. I've copied the entire Gameplay section with its sources, and altered it with the content I would like to include:

- - -

In Brawl Stars, players battle against other players or AI opponents in multiple game modes. Players can choose between characters called Brawlers that they have unlocked through Boxes, the Brawl Pass, the Trophy Road, or purchased through the Shop with Gems to use in battles.[1]

Players deplete the health bars of other Brawlers by firing projectiles at them. Damage or other factors allow Brawlers to use "Super" ability to deal more damage, heal allies, or gain another advantage. Brawlers can hide in tall grass which obscures them from enemy players. Players can upgrade Brawlers they have obtained with energy they have accumulated from Boxes, Brawl Pass, Tropy Road, or purchased. They can also collect passive abilities called "Star Powers" or limited use abilities called "Gadgets", unique for each Brawler, after upgrading them enough.[2][3]

Brawl Stars has a variety of different game modes that players can choose from, each one having a different objective. Players can invite friends to play with them up to the maximum team size of the game mode.[4][5]

In addition, it is possible to purchase skins with Gems or Star Points, or unlock them through the Brawl Pass, which will alter the appearance, animations, and/or sounds of Brawlers.[1][6]
