Scope of the listicle

Keeping it very concise this instance: While it's understandable that no list on this site is meant to be exhaustive, but I noticed that some arguably notable titles, with articles of their own, are missing from the list. However, I also see that it's thus far confined to the City of Boston and not the greater Greater Boston area as a whole. Since the adjoining urban agglomerations and even counties in said tri-state zone are most likely not notable enough to merit a "<Name> in fiction" listicle of their own, should the scope of this article be expanded? Thereby also avoiding any potential future-dispute over additions, relevant to the geographic-expanse? Also, so far the indication of this listicle appears to be that its merit is only to cover titles which has their narrative, whether scripted or "unscripted" (unless it's a settled policy-question for "WP:TV" that reality TV can't be defined as “fiction” whatsoever; mockumentaries, no matter how extremely reliant on ad-libbing/improv, are already out-of-consideration), set in a "real" or fictionalized region. But what if say, a project that [principally] films in Boston but: Is in fact set in some fantastical/mythical or futuristic (hitherto-undeveloped) location? Should those titles be also be disqualified for inclusion because they take place at somebody "elsewhere" than anywhere resembling Boston, even if the restriction for disqualifying the titles which are produced in the area but in fact set in other real-life location[s] of the world, is also taken out of consideration? –103.163.124.73 (talk) 00:50, 5 November 2021 (UTC) Edited 01:53, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes to most, provided the following terms apply Yes, to answer the main-question: The article's scope ought to expand on order to cover Greater Boston as a whole, and not just "Boston proper". And no, as long it's settled beyond any reasonable-doubt across WP:TV for policy-enforcing purposes that "reality TV" and somesuch don't count as “fiction”, then it shouldn't go that far. Mockumentaries are right call, in that vein. If the fantasy/sci-fa/sci-fi/speculative-fiction is principally filmed in Greater Boston but not set in any significantly more resembling real-location, then it must also be deemed eligible for inclusion. Others which are set elsewhere in spite of being produced at the tri-State region, should belong to their most-relevant "...in fiction" article. If there isn't any, and the title is in fact notable for geo-related factors, then it may be added below the main-list of a section with a small prose/sentence formatted as part of paragraph à la "Cast" section of fictional-works' articles noting the non-prominent parts in brief. Comment There's no reason this RFC should even exist. There no actual dispute going on in the article. You have had no issue here at the article. Be bold and edit the article. If and when an actual dispute arises then consider an RFC.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 01:03, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
