The article does not explain why System.UInt16 is blittable while System.Char is not.
Origin of Blittable
What is the etymology of the term blittable? Bit blit seems to refer to graphics applications, so Block-transfer instruction seems most likely. —Ost (talk) 15:08, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
