Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (Reason #1: The text itself was copied verbatim from Frederick H. Dyer (1908) by the other website. Since Dyer is in the public domain, I see no reason why Wikipedia or any other website should be prohibited from copying it. Reason #2: The introduction paragraph is in my own words and is not a copy of anyone else's work. Also, the infobox and list of References are my work. The References are unique to the named unit. Comment #1: If you still feel that Reason #1 is not acceptable, here is my proposal. Under References, I can cite Dyer without using the link to the other website. But I can put the other website as an External Link. I should also add the CWR template that creates this text: "This article contains text from a text now in the public domain: Dyer, Frederick H. (1908). A Compendium of the War of the Rebellion. Des Moines, IA: Dyer Publishing Co." In fact, I'll add the CWR tag when I'm done here. Comment #2: If you delete Battery I, 1st Missouri Light Artillery, you will also have to delete Batteries B, C, and D because they follow the same pattern. Comment #3: I plan to eventually rewrite the articles using other references besides Dyer. Other articles that I started using Dyer and ultimately put in my own words were 8th Massachusetts Light Artillery and Independent Battery F, Pennsylvania Light Artillery.) --Djmaschek (talk) 02:33, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please see that I've done as mentioned under Comment #1. The citations and references refer to Dyer without links to the Civil War Archive. I added the CWR tag. The actual Civil War Archive links (which I think are helpful to readers) are moved to the See also section. Please also see how the page 2nd Missouri Volunteer Infantry handles the Dyer reference while quoting Dyer word-for-word. I will follow this pattern.
