Race time divided by 2

I thought that an argument against this was the fact that the second 100m of the 200m race did not have the effect of the start-up acceleration from rest, and thus dividing the race time by two was negative biased.

Y'know what, thats a fair point. I never thought of it that way. Makes the claims of the 200 being faster than the 100 pointless and stupid doesn't it? But hey, if people thought more like that then we wouldn't be able to enjoy the spectacle of two inflated egos clashing. Would we?
