Article review

Very well written article ! :) Antonelse (talk) 12:39, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Review

The article is very well written and develops a very interesting overview of audio forensics. I only have a couple of observations: perhaps you want to replace "Main article: ..." with the See also tag; and maybe I would change Audio Enhancement to Audio enhancement for capitalization consistency with the content of the section. Observations and suggestions for improvements

The following observations and suggestions for improvements were collected, following expert review of the article within the Science, Technology, Society and Wikipedia course at the Politecnico di Milano, in June 2022.

The article is well written and well organized, exploiting both sections and figures. Audio Forensics sub-tasks are correctly defined following a categorization accepted in the literature. I only have one minor concern: the rise of deepfakes in the last couple of years has pushed the forensic community also towards detecting synthetic speech. This could have been cited within the "authenticty" section as it is becoming more and more relevant.

Other comments: - Maybe it makes sense to reference the "Forensic video analysis" page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forensic_video_analysis) - If anything about synthetic speech detection is added, it may make sense to refernece the "Speech synthesis" page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speech_synthesis) - It may be worth noting that recent advancements also include extensive use of deep learning and not just signal processing
