I edited it and added factual information. Hopefully it's better.Orange808 (talk) 16:13, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just wanted to say that all of the information on the AWA post has been copied and pasted from an animal-activist website and it is not based on the most updated version of the Animal Welfare Act.

this page is awful. Wikipedia shouldn't pass judgement on whether or not the rules are ideal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.16.229.44 (talk) 18:26, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will be editing it and added more section to this article. I will reorganize the page larencia E (talk) 7:54, 19 February 2012.

Review of changes made by GGC students

This page has been updated very well over the course of this project. I especially like the expanded section on licensing and Registration. It is interesting to see how each class of business is accountable for their animals. I was also somewhat surprised by how low the fees were, I though that they would be much higher considering what sorts of institutions usually house these animals, especially the exotic species. I was also unaware that they were required to sedate or tranquilize the animals being used for research, was there any more info on this? I think if more was added to this section that it could become a valuable resource to direct activists or others with concerns about the wellbeing of research animals to. I also like how much the timeline was updated, honestly the entire page is much better put together now then it was before you all started editing. Is there any information out there about possible futures for this act? It would be really cool to be able to see where public opinion stands on this issue currently, and also what revisions will possibly be voted on in congress regarding this act. If there is no such information i understand, but i think a section on the future of animal welfare could round out the post timeline area nicely. Good Job overall though! As a Wikipedia editor unaffiliated with the classroom project, I'd just like to suggest that when there are student projects on Wikipedia, it would be helpful if the edits were done with attention to Wikipedia's guidelines for style, formatting, etc. That hasn't often been the case here. --Tryptofish (talk) 23:38, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed you have made headway on the Timeline section of the article, and made a vast improvement on adding sources to that section. One suggestion I would make is on the amendments, maybe changing the formatting to better outline what changes have been made since the Act was passed into Public Law. Here is a website http://us-code.vlex.com/source/us-code-agriculture-1006 of all of the titles and chapters for US code in agriculture. It should give you a bit more detailed information (hopefully). It will at least give you an idea of what information they removed/added to the Act around those dates. Other than that it looks really good.Smorris80 (talk) 07:18, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging of page

Above, in this talk, I pointed out the need for attention to proper style and formatting, according to Wikipedia guidelines. During the course of the student project here, I have spent quite a bit of time and effort correcting mistakes made by the students. My hope was that the students would pay attention to my edits and advice, and make improvements in their own edits, and that, if necessary, the course instructor and campus ambassador would prod them along. Unfortunately, I see that the students appear not to be paying sufficient attention, based upon the most recent edits. For the moment, I have tagged the page for needing copyediting, and am making this comment here. I hope that this will result in better editing. If it doesn't, I may start to simply revert student edits. --Tryptofish (talk) 20:42, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
