Doukabours, Peter Verigin

Why is there no mention of the Doukabours and Peter Verigin in this article? The Doukabours arrival in Canada and Peter Verigin's death are the among the most significant anarchist events ever to happen in Canada. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doukabour http://canadawiki.org/index.php/Peter_Verigin Cooltobekind (talk) 21:37, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not to be flippant, but, well, because no one has added it. If you're knowledgable about them go ahead and write something. Thats the point of Wikipedia after all. Wyldkat (talk)

Twice I've removed links to articles on every other political philosophy in Canada, because I think the category of political movements in Canada covers it, and it's too much weight for a see also section. Murderbike (talk) 09:17, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone's up for it, Chris Dixon, whom I have added to the list of anarchist figures in Canada, does not have a wiki entry, but could. http://writingwithmovements.com/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wkcarroll (talkcontribs) 20:01, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Relative Importance of Anarchism in Canada compared to other countries.

The article seems to me to downplay the importance of Anarchism in Canada very severely. As an Australian it seems that nearly all anarchist literature is of Canadian origin. That is, Anarchism in Canada seems to have greater weight than Anarchism in the USA despite the latter's comparatively elephantine population.

This requires an explanation.

In part, due to its large French minority Anarchism would be expected due to the higher proportion of Roman Catholics. However, there seems to be an exaggerated anarchist trend in the British Isles derived population, presumably in reaction to aggressive USA-based Protestantism. Canada's large Ukrainian minority may also contribute, given their understandable anti-Soviet anti-Leninist tradition.

Whatever the reason is - it seems that Canadians are generally unaware of the inordinate influence of that despicable rabble-rousing philosophical muddleheadedness (i.e. Anarchism) in their country. Perhaps South Park's writers knew more than they were letting on.
