my question is on the training of pleasure class horses as i am a deputy in a mounted unit i use my q horse dayly as weather permits here in ohiobut have had the pleasure or lack there of assiting the local huamne officer. she was call to trainers barn only to find two horses tifgted from there bit truogh there front legs then to the d ring on the saddle .the hose was drawn down so his chin waqs nearly at his chest and as she was photoing him the one horse calapsed to the groun the trainer was summunsto free the animal and did so . a vet was called and inspection of the horses in the barn was conducted and it was found that everty horse had the bars in the mouth bloody with open cuts . the trainers comment was he weighed 230lb andthe horse at over1000 how would you stop something that much larger than you ( i can not make comments to this statament while doing an investigation it must be stated ) as we looked and took photos of the horses it was apparent he had something to hide but as we started tophoto his head stslls (bridles) with bits on them he grew very angry .as the bit was made of two very large wood type screws os that the bars of the horse would be cut and be come very tender thus making the horse more reponsive to his hand at least that was the story . my question is there any approved trainingand or program for training ? These horses all carried their head very low i thought you changed the rules so this was not the head set?please respond .RODNEY MILLER SPECIAL DEPUTY WILLIAMS COUNTY OHIO . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.11.27.21 (talk) 18:50, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think you've confused this page with the actual organization itself. This page is just a encyclopedia entry on the organization, if you want to ask questions of the American Quarter Horse Association about what is and what is not allowed training procedures (and from what you described, it would not be condoned by the AQHA) you need to contact them. Their webpage is here. Ealdgyth - Talk 19:12, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Circuit Shows?

A list of circuit shows would be nice. The one in Arizona is called Sun Country Circuit.

Maybe a link to the currently approved shows, but not here. A list in the article could contain thousands of shows and need to be updated annually or more -- I say let AQHA do that! (smile). Montanabw(talk) 17:27, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So, we shouldn't put information into wikipedia, because it should be somewhere else?
Just checking.
I'd like to know where I should go to organize and get information, since it's not wikipedia.

You could create a new article and make a list of significant and notable shows, such as was done at List of rodeos. However, remember that wikipedia is not a free advertising venue, so it isn't the place to mention the Podunk Warm Up. Montanabw(talk) 22:43, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So, wishing to discuss the history of a show is 'advertising'? How significant is significant?

No lists really should be in this article at all. As far as "notable," look for national events like the Quarter Horse Congress and the World. Maybe Denver Stock Show and Fort Worth Stock Show. Really, that's about it. But nothing would stop someone from starting a list of "major" QH shows, I suppose. See, for example List of rodeos for a comparison. The point is that once we start adding lists to these articles here, before you know it, the Ploughkeepsie Pony Club and the East Stockyard 4-H club want their events added and it NEVER ends. Interstate 40 in 1949

There was no such thing as Interstate 40 in 1949. The original headquarters building was on Plains Boulevard.50.26.99.246 (talk) 22:06, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
