What about South America?
Why only North America? Why is South America excluded, considering French is spoken in French Guiana, as well as creoles there and also in Brazil?
From what I can tell, only Metropolitan French is spoken in French Guiana, which wouldn't constitute a variety, but don't the creoles deserve a mention?
Once some references are added to this article to properly define the term, we should be able to clear up this confusion then.
