scottish and japanese
These are not the same name, perhaps a separate page is needed. Diverting to acair for example. They are spelt the same in roman alphabet, but beyond that even the pronunciation is not the same...a-kEER-a vs. a-ki-ra (roughly as the 'r' sound especially is not the same as english) But this is a mistake commonly made with the japanese pronunciaton [of most words] putting stress and long dipthongs where they shouldn't, they even got it wrong in the first dub of the film of the same name, for it to be corrected on a later version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.164.255.250 (talk) 19:21, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
Wrong info
In the 4th line - Akira is also an Indian female name derived from Sanskrit meaning "graceful strength". is wrongly described as there is no such word in Sanskrit like Akira. I have searched all the dictionaries and thought twice before writing in the talk page.(anyone can check the word online for conformation.) The citation was also wrongly given. Nowhere the page Sanskrit meaning is given. This kind of errors will mislead the readers and downgrade wiki reputation as some people are already up to it. Akira as a Thai name
Akira (as a Thai name) is a very rare Thai person name. So I think Wikipedia can remove it. The search engine results are mostly not persons but companies, resorts, or fictional characters' name. The Thai Akira as Thai fictional characters' name seems to be inspired by the Japanese Akira. --Love Krittaya (talk) 13:04, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
