Most art historians remain unconvinced Seracini's discoveries

The above is a quote from the article. What is it that art historians are unconvinced by. The results of the work done by Seracini, i.e. uncovering the drawings underneath later paint, surely aren't contested. It is the interpretation of these results that are contentious. The article should reflect his with a sentence like: Most art historians are currently unconvinced by Seracini's interpretation of his own results. --Dumbo1 19:58, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The above isn't a quote from the article. It was, for about 5 minutes, before I reverted it to the earlier version. However, I think your final sentence is even better than the version I reverted to. Paul B 20:07, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Interesting viewing on the TV. --Dumbo1 20:08, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tarkovsky's The Sacrifice

This painting is a central motif in the movie "The sacrifice" by Andrei Tarkovsky, might be worth noting?

[new comment; I don't know who wrote the above] The postman--at least superstitious, and perhaps mad--mentions the painting. And it's depicted during the opening credits. But I wouldn't consider it to have quite as much importance as to call it a "central motif".

Tarkovsky often depicts paintings in his films, the camera panning over them with leisurely abandon; it's a distinctive aspect of his style. In Sacrifice the main character is given a book of icon paintings for his birthday (and, slowly, we see his hand turn the page as he looks at several of the reproductions). This is probably a sort of self-homage, referring to his earlier film Andrei Rublev.drone5 (talk) 06:42, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Angelo Paratico Leonardo Da Vinci. A Chinese Scholar Lost in Renaissance Italy

This Hong-Kong based journalist has written a book, Leonardo Da Vinci. A Chinese Scholar Lost in Renaissance Italy, which has received considerable publicity, enough to be mentioned in various relevant articles. There has been of course criticism. See for instance [1] (I'm not sure if this meets RS but it gives some context for us), [2], [3], [4], [5] and many other sources. Doug Weller (talk) 09:41, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
