"The Fat Controller"

The article had the unsourced statement: "Here Comes The Fat Controller" is named after a guitar effects pedal named the Fat Controller. The article The Fat Controller says something else. The lyrics really don't give a clear answer. Any ideas? Torc2 (talk) 03:58, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 6 February 2016

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Moved 1 and 2 as requested. No consensus on the others.. @Tbhotch: I suggest if you still want to pursue the last three moves, you should probably list them separately. Or perhaps only combine 4 and 5, which are interlinked, with 3 separate. Otherwise you end up with a jumbled discussion like the one below. – I found more suitable to discuss all in the same place rather than discussing them individually. For the albums, the ampersand is not enough to make the distinction; for the film WP:UE applies, but I don't know where should be moved "The Sin of Adam and Eve" or "The Sin of Adam and Eve (film)"; "Eva & Adam" doesn't seem primary than Eva & Adam (TV series); and Eve & Adam I have no policy-based argument, more like a "why not". © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 21:10, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose The ampersand/and is enough to make the distinction - it creates distinct URLs. That's all that is necessary for disambiguation. Any more disambiguation is unnecessary. As for the Spanish title - what do English sources use? Go with that, and disambiguate as appropriate (only if necessary to create a unique url). --В²C 00:24, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Easy support on 1, 2, 4, 5 the ampersand is not enough and editors who contribute to article space would know that we don't distinguish by it on en.wp, because reliable sources don't distinguish. This is exactly why this RM should be uncontroversial. RM no 3 El pecado de Adán y Eva that's a more interesting question; google books does suggest an English title is known The Sin of Adam and Eve (film) should at least be a redirect, or (1972 film) given Miguel Zacarías (1967 film). • Support. English titles, abstain Spanish title. I appreciate what B2C says about URLs, but I am a human, like all WP readers, and humans need road signs. --Richhoncho (talk) 10:15, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support 1, 2, 4; Oppose 3, 5. "And" vs. "&" I can get behind. "Eve" vs. "Eva" not so much. And the film really should be a separate RM. Dohn joe (talk) 15:17, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support 1 & 2 per Richhoncho. "and" vs. "&" is a very easy editorial mistake, especially since these are both albums; extra disambiguation will avoid problems. El pecado is fine, it's the proper title and the English title should redirect there. Oppose 4 & 5 - "Eve" vs. "Eva" is disambiguation enough since they're not the same type of thing anyway. • Comment these should be discussed in four separate nominations; only the first two of the five items are intertwined. I suggest the original nominator do so now before the discussion gets any more fragmented. In each case, you also need to state whether the old name will remain as a redirect to the new name, or become a new disambiguation page, or redirect to an existing disambiguation page and if so which one. jnestorius(talk) 00:23, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • When you say "This has a precedent", I presume by "this" you are referring to what to do with the old name, rather than whether to bundle four separate proposals into a single nomination. jnestorius(talk) 11:18, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support 1 & 2, since "and" and "&" are essentially interchangeable. Neutral on the remaining suggestions. +mt 23:49, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
