"Sole species?"

According to the Kew checklist, A. media is considered a valid species by Acevedo-Rodríguez & Strong, although not by Govaerts. It's inconsistent with NPOV to ignore Acevedo and Strong (especially when Govaerts appears to be the one who compiled the Kew list and acknowledged the fact that Acevedo & Strong disagree with him. "A case for three species"

Henderson, et al 1997 - Field Guide to the Palms of Americas - lists two species of Acrocomium: A. aculeata and A. hassleri. A. hassleri occurs in Brazil. A. media occurs in Puerto rico and the Virgin Islands, where it is native. I think there is justification to write in three species vs. one. They each have distinctive characteristics. Move

I moved the page, since it is clearly not monotypic. However, I'm not sure what to do with the following: |fossil_range = {{fossil range|70}}[[Late Cretaceous]] - Recent I'm not sure if this applies to the species or the genus. I have asked the editor who added the line for details, including a ref. Guettarda (talk) 22:00, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
