Why is this article using 150 Year Old Source Material?

Hi. Why is this article using information that is old and obsolete? Almost all of the information in here dates from the 19th century... It needs to be extensively updated... There has been a lot of research in the last 150 years or so. Although, Steinscheider in particular, is the basis for much of the underlying manuscript recovery and cataloging of medieval science, there have been significant emendations to his work... Not part of Medieval Islam

Abraham bar Hiyya was born in Barcelona over 200 years after the Christian reconquest of that place. He is clearly not part of "Medieval Islam".John Pack Lambert (talk) 21:20, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is no evidence that Abraham bar Hiyya ever lived inside the sphere of medieval Islam. He is mis-categorized when put in a category related to such. Barcelona was clearly within the Frankish sphere of influence.John Pack Lambert (talk) 20:16, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to User:Lkitrossky for the clarification. I notice that you refer to indivisibles, not infinitesimals. Others say he used infinitesimals. What kind of terminology did he use? Is it possible to gauge whether he meant indivisibles or infinitely small quantities? Is there any evidence that he might have influenced Cusanus, for example? Minister of Police - deduced or known?

And now I read the former remarks here on the talk page by User:John Pack Lambert, and a user who decided to call himself User:Savasorda (!!!) and the suspicion only becomes greater.

In The Jewish Encyclopedia, according to User:Savasorda, it says that he was the governor of the city. In Hebrew Avraham is called Nassi which means President or Ruler. I suppose the theories were made by publishers, copiers and translators of his books, on the front page. What is the history of the name Savasorda for Avraham, where and when was it first known in writing?

Same question goes for the word Nassi.
