Development

A United States Army Nike Zeus missile armed with a nuclear warhead destroyed an orbiting satellite in May 1963. This does not look right. Sources talk about successful intercept (i.e. passing sufficiently close that a nuclear warhead would have destroyed the satellite), not actual destruction of satellite. See for example [1].
