Should she be listed on this page as a death in January 2016? Her body was discovered on that date but she died in Decemeber 2015. AnemoneProjectors 10:45, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The discovery of her body was the newsworthy item, there's a note explaining it was not her date of death, and she's not listed in the 2015 article. So I think she ought to stay listed here. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:03, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
My point was that I think she should be listed in 2015 instead of 2016 in the list of deaths, but listing the discovery of her body in the 2016 list of events is fine. I don't know but maybe that's just how it works when a date of death for a disappeared person isn't known. anemoneprojectors 14:19, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying. I don't see any problem with also having her listed in 2015, as her death is the more significant fact. I don;t see any advice here on how to treat this type of event. Martinevans123 (talk) 14:28, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

01leeteo

Can we please do something about this user "01leeteo" who only ever posts trivial, non-relevant stuff that's barely literate? I'm getting sick of deleting his garbage. Wjfox2005 (talk) 06:41, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that many posts on here have been trivial, but that is the nature of a page such as this. Attacking a user in such a way is not helpful, as was your last edit on this page calling another user a "moron" for adding sourced content (that was I agree trivial for this page, but that doesn't mean you can call them names). Have you tried politely asking 01leeteo why they are posting things and maybe we can agree some kind of guidelines as to what is trivial and what is not. How do I message him? His name is in red, so his page doesn't exist. Wjfox2005 (talk) 10:50, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox years format

In what circumstances would next year and the year after that be populated? Given the policy on WP:CRYSTAL etc, aren't these years very likely to remain redlinks. Maybe there's a good reason why this general format has been chosen. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 17:56, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

1 November

All saints' day isn't about the war-dead. Remembrance day is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.136.227.80 (talk) 12:16, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have removed the entry - You are right IP86 and the reference provided makes no reference to rememberance of war dead which is clearly not a UK thing anyhow. MilborneOne (talk) 21:00, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There's an ongoing issue with the user who included that particular entry. They have repeatedly added poorly sourced and/or referenced content for a number of months now, and the article probably needs some attention. I sorted a few things out earlier in the year, but was aware at the time of other entries that needed reviewing. This is Paul (talk) 21:11, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Autumn Colours

I think we ought to mention the wonderful colours of the leaves this Autumn, all over the country I believe, owing to an exceptionally long spell of sunny weather with hardly any wind. Many people are saying this is the best year they can remember. Usually the colours do not develop fully owing to rain and wind and they don't appear at their best owing to cloud. This is surely one of the memorable and unusual events of the year, even though it is not attached to one day.

Any comments ?

Better display than in recent years but not that uncommon it needs a mention. MilborneOne (talk) 15:22, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If multiple WP:RS meterological/ natural history sources say this, then why not. But I suspect many editors might see your suggestion as akin to promoting rainbows and unicorns. Martinevans123 (talk) 15:56, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
