Stacking my claim. Will get it soonish. YE Pacific Hurricane 00:24, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

How soon is soonish? Also, hi! :) ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:11, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I was gonna get to this once I finished up my article and am staying true to this. Anyhow, getting started. YE Pacific Hurricane 09:51, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • The previous two years only mentioned the tropical cyclone year date because the date changed. I find it odd to shoehorn the TC year in, and I'm not sure it's needed in every article. The season is defined by when the storms happen, not by rigid dates on the calendar. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:19, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Also in that month was Intense Tropical Cyclone Frank, which developed quickly but remained away from land." is this actually worth mentioning in the lead? It kinda messes with the flow and Frank was not an important storm in general, much like none of the TDs which you don't mention in the lead. YE Pacific Hurricane 09:51, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Symbols (MTS, STS, ect) on the timeline graph to meet WP:ACCESS.
  • "It weakened while crossing its former path, where water temperatures had dropped, a process known as upwelling." given you link upwelling earlier you should de-ink it and the sentence currently reads as if all drops in water temperature is due to upwelling. Honestly you're likely best off dropping the comma and replacing it with the word "in". YE Pacific Hurricane 09:51, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • "By the next day, Gafilo intensified to tropical cyclone status, aided by decreasing wind shear and the warmest waters of the year. The storm had a large size, extending 1,700 km (1,050 mi) from the Mascarene Islands to the Seychelles, with a distinct eye in the center of the convection. Moving west-southwestward toward northern Madagascar, Gafilo had outflow channels in three directions. With very favorable atmospheric conditions, the cyclone rapidly intensified beginning on March 5." this is a bit more redundancy than I'd expect out of you. You mention it had very favorable conditions in the last sentence yet you discuss the storm's outflow which is somewhat of an odd edition for a season section on a storm with an article and then just two sentences earlier mention warm waters and low shear. YE Pacific Hurricane 09:51, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • "One of the strongest cyclone records to strike Madagascar," I'd expect an article I write to have an error like this :P Did Gaffilo grab a pencil and write a recordbook of its own while it was making landfall? :P
  • Gaffilo's section in general seems really focused on met details, whether it's MH or focus on stuff like rainfall totals. Then again you're kinda in a tough spot here, with Gaffilo's article being as bad as the vision of a bat and you seemed only to focus on what MFR included in its report. I'd go through 1 or 2 relief web reports randomly and add only the impact information as that'd be more likely to get something that resembles an adequate summary. I could add stuff from LexisNexis if you want, as well, but then you run the risk of me messing up the flow slightly. YE Pacific Hurricane 09:51, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • The MFR report had a lot of good info to begin with, but perhaps it wasn't placed the best. I reorganized Gafilo's section, so the first paragraph is more of its origins plus early impacts, then peak intensity and Madagascar impacts, followed by the end of its life cycle. I also included a ReliefWeb source mentioning Elita and Gafilo, as well as the final death/damage toll from EM-DAT. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 13:47, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Otherwise, it's good. Just a few mishaps here and there. Also, I'm gonna merge the 3 2006 PHS articles. YE Pacific Hurricane 09:52, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Did all but Gafilo's section, which I'll work on. Thanks for reviewing! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:19, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Yellow Evan: I finished Gafilo's section and added a few new sources. Lemme know if that works. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 13:47, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
