Lawell or Lawwell

Contemporary reports spell it Lawell (see 1906 Vanderbilt Elimination Race). But some historians use Lawwell. Both are known forms according to familysearch.org. Can anybody shed any further light? --Rupertlt (talk) 13:11, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
