Regarding this edit: I think it is preferable to list specific critics by name, rather than leaving an ambiguous, unqualified "some". I also believe some description of the protests/awareness campaigns is warranted. They had a tangible effect, for example, on the celebrations on Parliament Hill: a tepee erected by the protesters was moved to a more prominent location near the main stage, and every government speaker mentioned that Ottawa is the ancestral home of the Algonquin people. isaacl (talk) 06:29, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Editing out criticisms

Protests by and criticism from the indigenous communities were major discussions point regarding these "celebrations". It seems statements relating to these criticisms have been effectively removed or buried in the current version of the article. --Natkeeran (talk) 20:57, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
