The Sisu GTP is a Finnish made four-wheeled, modular mine-resistant ambush protected armoured personnel carrier (APC) designed and built by Sisu Auto. The first version was produced in 2018.[2]
In June 2020, the Finnish Defense Forces ordered six vehicles for testing.[3] In December 2022, the Finnish Defence Forces ordered 25 vehicles more. They will replace RG-32M in Finnish service.[4]
Design
It uses Texelis T700 axles with independent suspensions.[5]
Operators
Current operators
31 + 13 on order[6]
A small unknown number ordered as CBRN reconnaissance and indication vehicle, more likely to come.[7]
Failed bids
Sisu GTP was evaluated against AM General HMMWV, Otokar Cobra and Paramount Marauder in 2018[8] and selected as winner in a tender to supply armored vehicles for Latvian armed forces[9]. The deal, worth about 200 million euros, was canceled in 2019 after AM General and Paramount Group complained about the procurement procedure.[10]
