Scott E. Bullock (born October 26, 1963) is an American priest of the Catholic Church who was appointed as bishop for the Diocese of Rapid City in 2024.

Biography

Bullock was born to Alexander and Mildred Bullock on October 26, 1963, in Royal Oak, Michigan, the youngest of three children. His family moved to Elkton, Maryland where he graduated from high school and began college the next year at the University of Delaware for his first year. He transferred to the General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan where graduated with a BS Degree in Industrial Engineering in 1985 and was then employed as an engineer in the automotive industry. He pursued pre-theology studies at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota and entered the seminary as a candidate for the Archdiocese of Dubuque. After four years of study at the Pontifical North American College in Rome where he earned a degree in sacred theology, Bullock was ordained to the priesthood on June 22, 1991. He studied Canon Law at the Catholic University of America and was awarded a License in Canon Law Degree in 1997. He also holds a master's degree in English from Southern New Hampshire University, completed in 2015.

Episcopal career

Pope Francis appointed Bullock bishop for the Diocese of Rapid City on June 25, 2024.[1][2][3] On September 23, 2024, Bullock is scheduled to be consecrated as a bishop.[4]
