The Sampaguita gas field is a natural gas field located in the South China Sea. Discovered in 2011, it was developed by Philex Petroleum, determining it to have initial total proven reserves of around 4.6 trillion ft3 (131 km3). It began production of natural gas and condensates in 2013, with a production rate of around 200 million ft3/day (5.7×105 m3).[citation needed]
