- September 15—18: Tokyo Game Show was held. List of games revealed include: The Great Ace Attorney 2, Earth Defense Force 2015, Berserk and the Band of the Hawk, Digimon World: Next Order (PS4), Musou Stars
- September 13: Chris Metzen left Blizzard Entertainment.[3]
- September 7: Sony Interactive Entertainment officially revealed PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 4 Slim.[4]
- August 30: Independent developer Renegade Kid was replaced by two companies: Atooi (who owns all of Renegade Kid's 2D IPs) and Infinitizmo (which owns all of Renegade Kid's 3D IPs).[5]

- August 12: Nordic Games, the company that acquired most THQ's franchises, was rebranded to THQ Nordic.[6]
