Perfluorohexyloctane, sold under the brand name Miebo is a medication used for the treatment of dry eye disease.[1] It is used as an eye drop.[1]

Side effects may include blurry vision.[1] It is a semifluorinated alkane and believed to work by preventing evaporation of tears.[1]

Perfluorohexyloctane was approved for medical use in the United States in 2023.[1] In the United States it costs about 780 USD for a 3 ml bottle as of 2023.[2]

Medical uses

Perfluorohexyloctane is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease.[1]

Dosage

It is used as one drop four times per day.[1]
