Marathahalli is an eastern suburb and outskirts of Bangalore city in Karnataka state of India. The ISRO Headquarters is located near to Marathahalli. The marathahalli main road is mainly used by IT professional which connects to Whitefield and ITPL.
Etymology
The suburb is named after HAL HF-24 Marut, an Indian jet aircraft manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Marat refers to the aircraft while halli (Kannada: ಹಳ್ಳಿ, romanized: haḷḷi) in Kannada means village.
Connectivity
A six-lane road overbridge near Marathahalli Junction connects Kundalahalli area and HAL Airport Road. Marathahalli has emerged as a major bus stop for long distance Buses from Bangalore. The international airport is located at a distance of 46 km from Marathahalli through the Outer Ring Road and Bangalore Hyderabad Highway. The nearest railway station from Marathahalli is located at Krishnarajapuram railway station which is at a distance of 7.7 km [2][3][4]
