Le Centaur Kingdom of France French East India Company The East Indiaman ran aground and was wrecked west of Cape Agulhas, Africa. All 400 people on board survived. They were rescued by Royal Navy ships under the command of Admiral Boscawen. Le Centaur was on a voyage from Mauritius to a French port.[39][40]
