Kattoor is a coastal village in Aryad Block Alappuzha district, Kerala, India. It is under Mararikulam south panchayath. Located 8 km towards North from Alappuzha and 3 km from Aryad. Kattoor is surrounded by Alappuzha Block at South, Kanjikkuzhy Block at North, Cherthala Block at North, Champakulam Block at South.
Schools
The Holy Family Convent School is a school in Kattoor, Alappuzha that was founded on May 7, 1920, and officially inaugurated on May 17, 1920. The school was established through the earnest efforts of Late Rev. Fr. Sebastian L.C. Presentation.[1] It started with 58 girls and Sri T.L. Leander served as its first headmaster. The school was upgraded to a middle school by the efforts of Mother Mary Michael and Mother Mary Jane. On June 1, 1964, the school secured the status of high school through the efforts of Sri C.D. Michael Kunju and the sisters, with Sr. Mary Philomina serving as the headmistress at the time. The school came under the corporate management of Alleppey Diocese as inspired by His Excellency Bishop Michael Arattukulam. The Holy Family Convent School attained the status of a full-fledged higher secondary school on June 24, 2000, through the sustaining spirit and enthusiastic efforts of the corporate manager Msgr. Varghese Puthenpurackal. The school is guided by Mother General Rev. Sr. Leela Jose as the Director and Rev. Sr. Rose Delima as the Local Manager. Sri. Cyrus K. S, who has been serving as the current principal of the school since June 2022, is also an alumnus of the school.
