Harrisburg High School is a public high school in Harrisburg, South Dakota, operated by the Harrisburg School District. It opened in 2007, though high schools in Harrisburg existed since the beginning of the 20th century.
Shooting
On September 30, 2015, Mason Buhl, a student at the school, walked into school with his father's shotgun and shot the current principal in the shoulder. This marked only the second time a school shooting happened in South Dakota. Buhl was promptly arrested and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
