"Godspeed (Sweet Dreams)" is a song by American country music group the Dixie Chicks. The song was written and originally recorded by Radney Foster in 1999. He sent the song to the group just before lead vocalist Natalie Maines had her baby. Appearing as a guest backing vocalist is Emmylou Harris. "Godspeed" premiered on June 2, 2003, to country radio as the fourth single from the group's sixth studio album Home (2002).
Chart performance
"Godspeed" debuted on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart the week of June 7, 2003, at number 59.[1] For the week of June 28, 2003, "Godspeed" reached its peak position of number 48, staying there for two weeks.[2] The song spent nine weeks in total on the chart.
