The fourth federal electoral district of Veracruz (Distrito electoral federal 04 de Veracruz) is one of the 300 electoral districts into which Mexico is divided for elections to the federal Chamber of Deputies and one of 19 such districts in the state of Veracruz.[a]

It elects one deputy to the lower house of Congress for each three-year legislative period, by means of the first-past-the-post system.

District territory

Veracruz lost a congressional district in the 2022 redistricting plan, which is to be used for the 2024, 2027 and 2030 elections.[2] The reconfigured fourth district covers a portion of the municipality of Veracruz south of the central urban area of the city of Veracruz and the whole of the adjacent municipality of Boca del Río in the state's Sotavento region.[3]

The district's head town (cabecera distrital), where results from individual polling stations are gathered together and collated, is the city of Boca del Río.[4]

Previous districting scheme

Between 2017 and 2022, the fourth district was limited to a part of the municipality of Veracruz. The head town was the city of Veracruz.[5]
