Dantrolene is a unique muscle relaxant that targets ryanodine receptors (RYR), which are responsible for intracellular calcium release in muscle cells. By binding to these receptors, it reduces excessive calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum, leading to muscle relaxation and preventing muscle contractions. |
