Description
English: The face of a newborn infant displaying pathologic morphology indicative of “Congenital Syphilis”.
A pregnant woman with syphilis can pass Treponema pallidum to her unborn child, who may be born with serious mental and physical problems as a result of this infection. When a newborn is affected it is known as “Congenital Syphilis”.
Español: Rostro de un neonato que posee una morfología patológica indicativa de "Sífilis Congénita".
Una mujer gestante que padece sífilis puede transmitir el Treponema pallidum a su hijo aún sin nacer, quien puede presentar serios problemas mentales y físicos al momento del nacimiento como resultado de la infección. Cuando un neonato se encuentra afectado afectado se conocme como "Sífilis Congénita".
