The x-axis depicts the chronological age in years whereas the y-axis shows the predicted age. The solid black line corresponds to y=x. Note that the Hannum predictor systematically under-estimates the ages of subjects who are younger than 20 (negative values of DNAm age on the y-axis). The Pearson correlation of the Weidener predictor (r=0.81, panel C) is lower than that of the other two predictors (e.g. r=0.98 panel A).
These results were generated in an independent blood methylation data set that was not used in the construction of these predictors (data generated in Nov 2014).
