Edinburgh Peak is the highest mountain in Gough Island, South Atlantic Ocean.[1]

Geography

This 902 m (2,959 ft)[1] high peak is the highest point of a ridge that runs in a roughly NW/SE direction in the central area of Gough Island.[2] Slightly lower Expedition Peak is located close to it.[3] The island is part of the Tristan da Cunha Archipelago, an outlying territory of the United Kingdom.[4] The mountain is an extinct volcano which erupted about 2,400 years ago.[5][6]
