Biography

Ziv Tamari was born in Petah Tikva and at the age of 12 he started playing the electric guitar. Tamari played in several alternative rock bands and in 2010 moved to Vienna, Austria. There he studied classical music at the Vienna Conservatory. One of his bands in Vienna, Ubiks Cube, performed at festivals, including the Donauinsel festival in Vienna. Tamari founded the rock band Perfekt Simple in 2014, upon his return to Israel. In 2016 he released the solo mini-album Ancient Land EP and went on tour in Europe. In 2018 he released the solo album My Promised Land. The album is progressive rock and exotic rock, mostly instrumental and dedicated to the Land of Israel.

Tamari cites Richie Blackmore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Gilmour, Rush, Iron Maiden and Jimmy Page as musical influences.

In addition to the guitar, Tamrai also plays many musical instruments such as bass guitar, mandolin, Portuguese guitar, ukulele, banjo, Irish bouzouki, Spanish Laúd, Persian Setar, Arabic oud, Saz-Bağlama, Sitar, Greek bouzouki, Algerian mandole and more. With his affinity for ethnic musical instruments, Ziv established a unique store for musical instruments from around the world called Musical Spices, in Petah Tikva.

Today Tamari plays in several rock-pop bands including Perfekt Simple, Sinaia and the folk band Eternal Wind, in all of which Tamrai is also the main songwriter.
