The Silver Jubilee of Abdullah II[1] on 7 February 2024 will mark the 25 years of Abdullah II as the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, after the death of his father, King Hussein of Jordan, on February 7, 1999. The Jubilee will be mark with large-scale and popular events throughout Amman and the rest of the country in February and May 2024. It will the first ever Silver Jubilee celebration of a Hashemite monarch in history.

Events

February 7

The Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Tuesday decided to introduce the "Silver Jubilee Flag" to mark the 25th anniversary of His Majesty's assumption of constitutional powers.[2], the logo was launched the same day.[3]

King Abdullah delivered a televised speech in which he said that Jordan can “always look forward to more resilience and prosperity” and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for Palestinians and an end to the Israeli occupation amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

Jordan’s official Petra news agency said the king had received congratulatory notes and remembrance messages paying tribute to the late King Hussein from senior government officials and civil society organisations.[4]

At the logo presentation, Princess Rajwa was dressed in the black flared maxi dress from British luxury label ME+EM that was cinched at the waist. Completing her look, she added a green-blue “Gabrielle” clutch by renowned Parisian trunk maker Moynat.

Meanwhile, Queen Rania looked elegant in a Dior double sided cashmere felt coat adorned with a crisscross collar, paired with the Louis Vuitton “Chain It” purse.

She completed her ensemble with vintage grey and silver sunglasses named “Luisella,” a collaboration between the US luxury eyewear brand Oliver Peoples and the Italian luxury fashion label Brunello Cucinelli.[5]

June 10

A series of events took place on June 10, with the deployment of vehicles, security forces and dance groups, who paraded in front of the king, accompanied by his wife, Queen Rania and crown princess Hussein and Rajwa.

“It is our collective responsibility to pursue comprehensive modernisation and unleash the potential of our economy,”

, said the king[6]

In a show of affection on social networks, Queen Rania saying to the King, "King of my heart," she said on the social network X[7]

A characteristic note was Rajwa's first presentation at the event, showing her pregnancy, whose baby is expected to arrive in the summer of 2024.[8]
