SelectQuote is a for-profit American insurance brokerage and healthcare services company headquartered in the Kansas City metropolitan area of Overland Park, Kansas. The company operates from three offices across the country and employs over 3,000 individuals across 39 states.

History
Founded in 1985, SelectQuote provides solutions that help consumers protect their most valuable assets: their families, health, and property. The company pioneered the model of providing unbiased comparisons from multiple, highly rated insurance companies allowing consumers to choose the policy and terms that best meet their unique needs.</ref> Two foundational pillars underpin SelectQuote’s success: a strong force of highly trained and skilled agents who provide a consultative needs analysis for every consumer, and proprietary technology that sources and routes high-quality leads.
With an ecosystem offering high touchpoints for consumers across Insurance, Medicare, Pharmacy, and Value-Based Care, the company now has four core business lines: SelectQuote Senior, SelectQuote Healthcare Services, SelectQuote Life, and SelectQuote Auto and Home.
SelectQuote Senior serves the needs of a demographic that sees around 10,000 people turn 65 each day with a range of Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans.
In spring of 2021, SelectQuote introduced its new venture; SelectQuote Healthcare Services, including Population Health, which is a healthcare services company focused on providing Medicare-eligible individuals with an actively managed, high-touch customer experience and SelectRx, a specialized medication management pharmacy.
Population Health’s primary focus is to help customers improve medication adherence, health literacy, and care coordination by partnering with dozens of local and national service providers to bring more awareness to free and reduced-cost resources available to Medicare beneficiaries. The Population Health platform connects its members with best-in-class healthcare services that fit each member's healthcare needs. The platform improves health outcomes and lowers healthcare costs through proactive engagement and access to high-value healthcare solutions.
The acquisition of medication management pharmacies Express Med Pharmaceuticals and SimpleMeds led SelectQuote to launch SelectRx; a high-touch, technology-driven approach to support patients with medication management to improve adherence and overall health. The company developed an innovative pill pack solution customized to the unique needs of each customer, focusing on individual multi-dosages by day and time.
Philanthropy, Volunteerism and Sponsorships
The SelectQuote Foundation and SelectQuote Community strives to energize associates and to support the community through philanthropy and volunteerism. The goal of the Foundation is to help non-profit organizations make a measurable impact on the communities where SelectQuote employees live and work by investing in education, programs for underserved youth, and entrepreneurship.
Since May 2022, the SelectQuote Foundation has presented grants to the following organizations:
Summit Future Foundation, which focuses on empowering youth and young adults with developmental disabilities. No Limits Foundation, Camp No Limits, which serves youth with limb differences. This grant supported local kids to attend summer camp. Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City, which helps local kids access opportunities to learn and grow, work with mentors and peers, and the chance to let loose and be a kid in a safe space. Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County, to further support the big and little matches with activities. Explore Foundation, to help students who attend Title I schools attend field trips. STEAM Studio, to help students in under-resourced areas with no access to transportation have the opportunity to participate in learning programs outside of school. The Hispanic Development Fund, to help first-generation students access programs to help them prepare for college.
The Foundation works in conjunction with the Employee Advisory Board to vet grant requests made through The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. In 2022, the SelectQuote Foundation presented four grants totaling $17,500.00. The total amount of grants presented in 2023 is $17,300.00. The SelectQuote Foundation board members meet regularly to review the Foundation fund and discuss fundraising opportunities, grant requests, and volunteer opportunities.
