History

The history of Platypus Printing Packaging goes all the way back to 1928 when William Prial (The Founders Grandfather) bought a small printing press in Melbourne, Victoria and turned that printing press into a small company called Brentwood Press. Named after Brentwood, Essex a small town in England where he emigrated from.

In 1951 the founders parents (Ronald Claude Lusch & Kathlyn Mae) get married and takeover Brentwood Press. And they specialized in pop-up packaging for supermarkets, chain stores and exhibitions.

A couple decades later and Tom Lusch registers Platypus Graphics as a company which would later be named Platypus Printing Packaging.

In 1990 Platypus Printing Packaging hit a major milestone they ended up reaching a team of over 40 employees and the company also because Queenslands most awarded printing company.

In 2019 the company is now Queenslands largest folding carton manufacturer and became the first company in the Asia Pacific region to upgrade to Kodak’s new cloud-based printing workflow platform, Prinergy On Demand in 2020.
