Marko Veisson (born July 25th 1976) is an Estonian anthropologist and musician.

Education

In the years 1994-1998, Veisson obtained a Bachelor's Degree in sociology at the University of Tartu, and a master's degree in sociology in the years 1996-2007. In 2006, he began his doctoral studies at the University of Tartu in the field of sociology, and in 2009 in the field of Social and Cultural anthropology at the University of Helsinki[1]

Academic Work

Veisson has worked at the Viljandi Academy of Culture and the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy: from 2001 to 2004, he was the head of the cultural education department, then from August 2006 for a year and from september 2006 to August 2008 an extraordinary lecturer. Since August 2008, he has been a lecturer in sociology and cultural anthropology.

He plays the Talharpa alongside Ramo Teder in the Nu-folk group Puuluup.

In 2024, he represented Estonia at Eurovision as part of Puuluup with the band 5MIINUST.
