The 1400 series are rail cars made by CRRC and used on the MBTA Orange Line in Boston, Massachusetts. Entering service in August 2019, they are the some of the newest rail cars in the system, only second to the 1900 series on the Red Line. They were built to replace the aging 40-year old 1200 series fleet introduced in 1981, providing more capacity, more reliable service, and easier accessibility.
