Live on Tour is a Live album by American singer Bobby Vee, and was released in March 1965 by Liberty Records.[1] Vee covers hits from the 1960s with this album for the 2nd Album of it, this time, it including "(The Man Who Shot) Liberty Valance", "For Your Love", "Houston", "You're Sixteen", "Call Me Irresponsible", "Tower of Strength", "The 'In' Crowd", "Save Your Heart for Me", "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'", "A Hundred Pounds of Clay", "Love Is All We Need", "Make It Easy on Yourself" and others .Like 1964's Vol. 1, these are snippets of past hits of the era, Each song is a medley combining two songs into one.[2]
Reception
At the time of the album's release, Billboard called it "a live performance album", and stated that "[Vee] is in good form as he presents most of his hit material"[3]
Cashbox called it "very danceable tunes" and stated that "Driving rhythm and feelingful interpretation of solid rocking numbers keynote this set of “live” performances,[4]
Press & Sun-Bulletin notes "it can find many favorites in it"[5]
Tampa Bay Times says Vee will "delight his fans with brief versions or numbers like Moon River, Danke Schoen, Ruby Baby"[6]
