Jimmy Mugerwa, is a Ugandan corporate executive who serves as the Board Chairman of Uganda Breweries Limited, since 1 July 2023....[1] He replaced Japeth Katto, who had served in that role since 2015. He is the founder & CEO of Zoramu Consulting Group Limited, a private oil and gas Business Advisory firm based in Uganda. He serves as the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf President since June 20th 2023[2]
Early life and education
Mugerwa was born in Kampala, Uganda. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Makerere University and a Master of Science Degree from the University of Wales.[3] He completed the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Post-Graduate Diploma, obtained various certificates in Oil and Gas, and is a graduate of the Executive Business Leadership Programme at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland[4][5]
Career
Mugerwa is the founder and CEO of Zoramu Consulting Group Limited, a private advisory firm specializing in the oil and gas sector. He has held leadership roles within the oil and gas industry across Africa and Europe, such as Managing Director of Tullow Oil in Uganda. Before this role, he spent nineteen years at Royal Dutch Shell, serving in various executive capacities, including Kenya Shell Country Chair/General Manager and Africa Retail Marketing & Strategy Manager. Additionally, he held the position of Senior Regional Advisor for sub-Saharan Africa at the corporate headquarters in the Netherlands.[6] Currently, he sits on the Advisory Board of Veracity Worldwide. Since July 1st, 2023, he has been appointed as the new Board Chairman of Uganda Breweries Ltd[7][8]
Other considerations
Mugerwa holds the position of non-executive Director at East African Breweries (EABL), serves as Chairman of the DFCU Bank Board.[9][10] Mr. Mugerwa currently serves as a non-executive director on the Board of Uganda Breweries Limited, chairs the DFCU Holding Group, and holds an independent non-executive director position at Jubilee Allianz Insurance in Uganda.[11] He has held directorship roles on various boards for Shell and Tullow companies across East Africa.[12][13] Until December 2019, Mr. Mugerwa chaired the Presidential Investor roundtable for Oil and Gas for four years.[14] On 26th June 2023, Mugerwa was installed as the New President of Kigo Seven Lakes Rotary Club.[15]
