The Illinois and Michigan Canal Trail is a 61-mile-long (98 km) partial shared-use path for walking, jogging, skateboarding, and cycling, located along the southwest suburbs of Chicago along the Illinois and Michigan Canal.[1] As of 2023, a project is underway to connect the trail with the Lake Chaminwood loop trail.[2] The trail is a part of the Great American Rail-Trail Preferred Route.[3][4]
