The Gothenburg Rowing Race is a long-distance head race on Göta Älv in Gothenburg Sweden. The race starts in Kungälv and finishes in Gothenburg. Participants row a distance of 20 kilometers for those rowing the longest distance. The race is one of the longest rowing races in Europe and was, until 1976, the longest rowing race in the world. The main class is coxed eights, but there is also room for other boat classes, such as inrigger boats, ten-oar boats, and færings. [1]
