Rabbi Dov Ber Cohen (Oct 1977 -  age 46) is a motivational speaker, meditation and mindfulness teacher, author and Orthodox Jewish Rabbi[1].

Early Life and Education:

Dov Ber grew up in London, England in a Reform Jewish affiliated family.

He got a bachelor's degree in philosophy at Manchester University.

Having become enamored with Eastern philosophies, meditation and martial arts at Manchester, Dov Ber decided to travel to the East to get first hand experience of the teachings and practices of those spiritual traditions. His mission was to immerse himself in the local communities and cultures rather than just being a tourist passing through.

He ended up living in a small village in central Thailand for a year and a half, Jeju Island off the coast of South Korea for over a year, India for over a year and Japan for over a year. With his four month stay in Sri Lanka, a couple of months each in Laos, China andNepal, Dov Ber ended up spending six years in the East[2].

In that time he learnt Thai, Japanese, Hindi and Korean to a highly conversational level, attained a black belt in taekwondo and brown belt in Aikido, attended several 10 day silent meditation retreats, fasted for a week with just two small cups of water and a small piece of papaya a day, volunteered in orphanages and hiked extensively in the Himalayas[3].

His eyes then turned to a canoeing trip down the Amazon but he stopped in Israel for a couple of weeks on his way over.

In Israel, Dov Ber came into contact with the profound wisdom, depth, insight, beauty and truth of Judaism that he never knew existed. He decided to extend his stay and only ended up getting to South America several years later as a Rabbi leading social justice trips to Nicaragua and Peru for young professionals from around the world[4].

After a year in Israel Dov Ber decided to walk the Israel National Trail - a hiking path that runs 1100 kms from the North to South of Israel. He completed the trail in a biblical 40 days and 40 nights, raising $18,000 on his way for orphanages that he had worked in. Article

CAREER:

He is now a senior educator at Aish, an organization devoted to empowering less affiliated Jews to connect to their Jewish identity and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a Jew. In his capacity as an educator not only for Jews he has met Floyd Mayweather, Noah Schnapp, and Nuseir Yassin.

He is a very highly sought after speaker for Jewish organizations bringing trips to Israel and in their country[5].

He also runs Living In Tune Mindfulness - an online mindfulness course teaching people the basics of living with health and well-being on all four levels - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

He has a YouTube Channel Mastering Life Series imparting practical wisdom to help people create a great life for themselves.

Author:

Rabbi Dov Ber Cohen is the author of two books.

Mastering Life: A Unique Guidebook to Jewish Enlightenment, documenting his travels and the wisdom and life skills he learnt on the way. Mastering Life has been revamped to be more accessible for less affiliated Jews under the title The Enlightened Jewish Master.

His second book is called The Essential Teachings: Universal Wisdom for Creating a Great Life. It teaches simple, practical ideas and tools that everyone, from atheist to priest would agree on and which can lead the practitioner to a much higher quality of life, clarity of purpose, sense of self, happiness, inner calm, and health.

He has also written several articles for Aish.com website.
